Three ruling houses of Aju Ameacho, Aju Akogu and Aju Akwu/Itodo Aduga of the Attah Igala Dynasty have opposed the choice of Prince Idakwo Ameh Oboni from Aju Ocholi Ruling House as the next Attah of Igala over claims that by method of rotation it was the turn of Aju Ameacho and Aju Akogu ruling house to ascend the throne.
In a statement signed by Hon Chief Usman A. Ahmad (Afu Ameacho) Hon. S. S. Haruna (Aja Akogu) and Itodo Achimugu Obaje (Aju Akwu) the three ruling houses of the Attah Igala dynasty, maintained that Aju Ocholi ruling house which presented Prince Idakwo Ameh Oboni cannot do so because it was not its turn to produce the next Attah of Igala.
The ruling houses, in the statement, said "It goes without saying that if Prince Idakwo Ameh Oboni from Aju Ocholi Ruling House is allowed for now to ascend the throne of Attah Igala, the result will be total elimination of Aju Ameacho and Aju Akogu Ruling Houses from the throne of Attah Igala."
They stated that their stand over the tussle which has shrouded the Attah Igala stool was because there is an attempt to truncate the rotation of the stool among the four Ruling houses namely: Aju Ameacho, Aju Akogu, Aju Ocholi and Aju Akwu.
They observed that the usual rotational order was truncated in 1956 after the departure of Attah Ame- Oboni from Aju Ocholi Ruling house. The ruling houses said in 1956, the normal rotational order would have been the turn of Aju Ameacho to be followed by Aju Akogu Ruling House. As a result of the truncation, Aju Akwu (Attah Aliyu Ocheje Obaje) came on board in 1956. This disorganized the normal rotational order. The statement reads in part: "It must be clearly understood that Attah Ame Oboni from Aju Ocholi Ruling House ruled from 1946 - 1956 which was 56 years ago.
Attah Atabo Ijomi from Aju Akogu Ruling House ascended the throne from 1919 - 1926 (86) years ago. Attah Oguche Akpa from Aju Ameacho Ruling House ascended the throne from 1911 - 1919 i.e. ninety-four (94) years ago. Then late Attah Aliyu Ocheje Obaje ascended the throne from 1956 - 2012."
