Nigeria: Ali Kwara Team Arrests Two Suspects, Recover Car

Bauchi — The Inspector General of Police Special Anti Robbery Squad team attached to a renowned armed robbers hunter Alhaji Ali Kwara has arrested two people suspected to be car thieves in Kano.

Kwara stated this yesterday while parading the suspects in Azare headquarters of Katagum local government area of Bauchi State.

He said the suspects were arrested through useful information from an informer when they were about to sell the car in Kano.

He said the suspects drugged the owner of the car, making him fall into sleep; they drove the car from Lagos and dropped the sleeping owner near a company in Niger State.

Kwara said all their effort to trace the owner of the car failed. "The suspects and the recovered 406 Peugeot car will be handed over to the Niger State Police command for further investigations," he added.

The two suspects confessed to have committed the crime and sought leniency from authorities saying this was the first time they were arrested.
