Tessenei — The NUEW branch in Gash-Barka region indicated that it is striving to ensure large-scale introduction of the energy-conserving stove Adhanet on the basis of the goal of promoting women's wellbeing vis-à-vis environmental health.

Ms. Kidisti Ogbatsion, coordinator of the project in the region, explained that introduction of the smokeless stove began in 2005, and that around 11,000 families have already become beneficiaries of the project. She further pointed out that the process would be reinforced this year.

Ms. Meaza Mahrai, head of NUEW branch in Tesenei sub-zone, on her part disclosed that Adhanet stove has won significant acceptance by women in the locality.
