Speaking to reporters this week, the Chairman of TACTO, Mr. Joas Kahembe said Tanzania being a member State of EAC deserves to participate in the exhibition in order to showcase its culture of her diverse tribes.

He said exhibitors would include carvers, artists, painters, circus players and artists. More than Shs. 170 million is required to accomplish the trip of which only sh 10 million had already been raised by last week.

He explained that cultural tourism started in Tanzania in the 1990s with an objective of interaction of tourists and villagers. The latter have benefited from selling souvenirs to tourists.
