Eritrea: Diary Farmers in Southern Region Express Benefiting From Association

Mendefera — The diary farmers in Southern region expressed that they are benefiting from their association in terms of securing animal feed, market as well as provision of medical supplies.

Mr. Mengistu Habte, member of the association, explained that due to the fact that he joined the association his basic demands are being met and his diary products increased and that he is currently engaged in cultivation of green animal feeds and vegetables along side diary farm.

He also indicated that he entered into diary farming business through cooperation of administrations and agricultural experts and called on others to invest their resources in vegetables and diary farms.

He further reiterated that the diary farm he began with one cow has now 17 cows as well as two hectares of land vegetable farm and that the secret of his success is hard working and encouragement from the part of the Government as well as the diary farmers association.
