Sudan: Displaced Injured and Arrested By Security Forces, Central Darfur

Zalingei — Security forces have arrested Ishaq Adam Abkar, a Hamidiya camp resident, from Zalingei's market in Central Darfur on Sunday, sources told Radio Dabanga.

A camp activist revealed to Radio Dabanga that security forces attacked displaced Ishaq Adam Abkar with sticks at Zalingei's market on Sunday afternoon. He added that the security officers injured Ishaq in his head and stated that he was taken to the security services' offices in the city.

Furthermore, the activist claimed that Ishaq's body was covered in blood and expressed his fear that the displaced man will be exposed to more ill-treatment and torture in security detention. The activist demanded the immediate release of Ishaq or to give him a fair trial.

The reason behind Ishaq's arrest remains unknown.
