Electricity and Energy Minister, Ahmed Imam said that the ministry plans to add 2,800 megawatt to the national power grid in 2013.
The ministry will also increase the production rates of current power stations by launching new maintenance programs and rationalizing consumption.
Imam made the remarks during his meeting on Saturday 9\2\2013 with the investment committee, formed by the Cabinet, to discuss the ministry's plan to cope up with any extra load expected in the upcoming summer season.
