Egypt: Republican Guards Commander Condemns Attempts to Storm Ittihadiya Palace

Commander of the Republican Guards on Friday 08/02/2013 denounced attempts to storm the gate of Ittihadiya palace and burning it with Molotov cocktails and hurling stones at the palace, saying that "this palace and all establishments belong to the people and not to any person in particular".

He stressed that Republican Guards stationed in front of the main gates of Ittihadiya palace were withdrawn inside the palace in a bid to avoid clashes with protesters.
