Two people in the persons of Lamin Sarr and Musa Keita, both residents of Nemakunku in the Kanifing Municipality, were on Wednesday convicted and sentenced at the Bundung Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Landing M Sanneh, after being found guilty of house breaking and theft.
The two convicts were sentenced to two years' imprisonment on count one and another one year imprisonment with hard labour on count two.
The particulars of the offence on count one stated that on the 6th day of November, 2012 at Nemakunku in the Kanifing Municipality, the two convicts jointly broke into the house of one Adama Sillah by breaking the window glass, intent to commit felony.
On count two, on the same date and place at Nemakunku they jointly stole the following items: 5 tie and die cloths valued at D15, 200; 1stabilizer, valued at D3, 300;1 transformer valued at D2, 500; 1 generator valued at D1, 500; 1 DVD laptop valued at D1, 000; 1small radio tape valued at D1, 000; all totallingto D24, 500, being the properties of the said Adama Sillah.
The convicts were therefore sentenced accordingly. Sgt 1061 Jallow stood for the IGP.
