Eritrea: Adi-Fakai Area in Soil, Water Conservation Campaign

Hagaz — The inhabitants of Adi-Fakai Administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, said that they are engaged in soil and water conservation campaign with a view to raising agricultural output. Accordingly, they are constructing terraces and water diversion canals on the basis of teams.

Among the inhabitants, Mr. Mohammed-Ali Kerar, Mr. Osman Hamd and Ms. Meryem Humed lauded women's participation in the process, and expressed the community's readiness to sustain the undertaking.

Mr. Adem Seidai, Administrator of the locality, pointed out that the activities would be conducted on a total of 40 hectares, and called on the inhabitants to enhance efforts as regards environmental conservation.

Adi-Fakai village is located some 15 Km. South-west of Hagaz semi-urban center.
