Rwanda: Rutsindura to Lead Women National Team

Former SC Kiyovu and Nyanza FC coach Antoine Rutsindura has been appointed the full time head coach of Rwanda national women football team.

According to the Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) Secretary General Michel Gasingwa, the federations has written to the Ministry of Sports and Culture proposing Rutsindura to lead the team. However, the ministry is yet to respond.

"Because it is the ministry that pays national team coaches, we have given them the proposal and are still waiting for the confirmation, we requested Antoine to be in charge of the team," Gasingwa told Times Sport on Saturday.

If approved, Rutsindura will have a big hand in choosing the rest of the technical team.

Meanwhile, the reigning women national league champions AS Kigali lead 2012/2013 league standing with 12 points, while APR are in second place with 9pts, Urumuri and Rambura are lying on bottom without points after four rounds of matches.

The league is composed of eleven teams; APR, AS Kigali, The Winners, Kamonyi, Bugesera, SIR, Urumuri, Inyemera, Imirasire, Les Lionnes Del'E.S. Mutunda and Rambura WFC.
