Nigeria: Afcon 2013 - Victor Moses Returns to England

Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses, has returned to England, THISDAY has exclusively learnt.

The 22-year-old Chelsea star, voted the Best Player at AFCON 2013, is believed to have boarded a British Airways flight Monday morning from Johannesburg for the almost 13-hour flight back to London.

Moses, who played a big part in Nigeria ending her 19-year wait to get her hands on the glittering African trophy, is believed to have left in order to spend some time with his family. He recently became a proud farther.

Although President Goodluck Jonathan is expected to receive the victorious team Tuesday in Abuja, officials opted to allow the player a quick exit on account of his sterling performance at this first ever African Cup of Nations.

The remaining members of the team and officials are expected to depart South Africa at 9am (8am Nig time) on Tuesday in a special flight laid on by Arik Air.

The six-hour flight is scheduled to touch down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 1pm where they will be hosted by a very appreciative President.
