Nigeria: Don't Campaign for Me Yet - Suswam Tells Supporters

Makurdi — Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam has warned those urging him to contest higher elective position in 2015 who have started campaigning for him to desist for now.

He maintained that the time was not ripe and that such premature campaign would distract his attention from providing the much needed dividends of democracy for the electorate.

Suswam handed the warning in Makurdi during the presentation of official cars to the 23 deputy chairmen and the leaders of the local government legislative councils in the state.

"Those who want me to become president of the country or whatever, the time is not ripe they should wait till next year. Do not distract me because of 2015", he stated.

He therefore warned that his government would not take kindly if it is discovered that government officials are involved.
