Angola: Provincial Carnival Award Estimated At Over Akz 2.0 Million

Caxito — About AKZ 2.5 million is the global amount to award the winners of the 2013 edition of carnival in the northern Bengo province.

This was said to Angop on Monday by the provincial director of Culture, Moisés Kafala.

The director explained that the winner of the event in adult class will receive AKZ 700.000, while the first and second runners-up will be awarded AKZ 500.000 and 350.000, respectively.

In children class, the winner will be awarded AKZ 450.000, whereas the first and second runners-up will receive AKZ 300.000 and 200.000, respectively.

Moisés Kafala said that he has been working with various entities in order to improve every year the awards of carnival, so as to mobilize and encourage the groups to participate actively in all editions.

The provincial carnival parade of Bengo is set for 12 February and it will count on the participation of 13 groups.
