Angola: Environment Minister Attends Meeting in DRC

Luanda — Angola's minister of Environment, Fátima Jardim, is in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to participate in the second tripartite meeting of the ministers of the cross-border initiative of the Maiombe forest conservation, Angop has

learnt.

The meeting that started on Monday with the holding of a meeting of experts, will end on February 13, date set for the meeting of the ministers members of this initiative.

During this meeting participants will debate the proposals of treaties among the Governments of Angola, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Congo Brazzaville, the analysis of the implementation of the headquarter of the mentioned initiative and the second

phase of its strategic plan.

The mentioned initiative comprises projects to reinforce the conservation and the sustainable management of Maiombe ecosystem, as well as the co-operation among the member countries.
