Nigeria: Lawyer Blames Rising Cases of Corruption On Plea Bargain

An Abuja-based lawyer, Mr Gabriel Egbule, on Monday said the recognition of plea bargain by judges had encouraged corruption, particularly among the rich.

Egbule told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in an interview in Abuja that the use of plea bargain by corrupt persons as a means to evade adequate punishment for charges levelled against them was unacceptable.
