Nigeria: Power Generation Now Near 4,500 Megawatts - TCN

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says that power generation improved to almost 4, 500 mega watts from 4, 286 mega watts at the weekend.

Mr Dave Ifabiyi, the Assistant General Manager (Public Affairs) TCN, disclosed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.

"Power generation, which earlier stood at 4,286 mega watts, improved at the weekend.

"As at today, our power generation is hovering around 4,400 to 4, 500 megawatts," he told NAN.

He said that TCN would increase its current generation level when all the National Integrated Power Projects (NIPP) were fully integrated into the national grid.

Ifabiyi attributed the recent increase in power generation to government's commitment to the privatisation of the sector.
