Namibia: Hitradio Donates to Charity

Windhoek — The private radio station Hitradio Namibia 99.5FM raised N$262 777.11 through the "Aktion Sonnenstern" fundraising drive.

The initiative has been running for three years to raise money for various charity organisations. This year the money would go to the Cancer Association of Namibia, the Okanti Foundation that supports chronically ill patients and those waiting for organ transplants, and to the MS Namibia, which supports people suffering from multiple sclerosis.

"I am extremely grateful for the excellent support we have received from our listeners. Without their dedication and generosity this project would never have been such a success. It's great that we took hands to help people in need," said Doris Meyer, the coordinator of the project.

"Hitradio Namibia wants to thank all Namibians who have supported this charity drive. The three organisations that will benefit from this initiative were also able to create awareness and to inform the public about their functions. Aktion Sonnenstern showed once again that Namibians support each other and care for each other," said Hitradio Namibia CEO, Wilfried Hähner.
