Gambia: Arson Case Adjourned

The arson case involving one Mbye Nyang could not proceed recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul before Justice Emmanuel Nkea.

When the case was called, the accused told the court he had no money to hire the services of a lawyer.

In response, the state counsel told the court there was no proper charge before the court, and he did not know whether the arson charge would continue.

The trial judge then adjourned the case till 14 February 2013, for mention and ordered the state to file a bill of indictment before the court.
