Egypt: Economic Group Discusses Confronting Inflation, Supply Commodities Provision

The economic group met on Monday 11/2/2013 under Prime Minister Hisham Qandil to discuss means of confronting inflation, provision of supply commodities, political conditions in Egypt, and protecting the Egyptian economy against any possible effects of the current events.

The meeting was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, the Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation, Petroleum Industry, Foreign Trade, Finance, electricity and supply.

The meeting reviewed provision of consumer commodities and foodstuffs at cooperatives at reasonable prices and provision of oil products.

Ambassador Alaa Al Hadidy, the official cabinet Spokesman said the meeting decided to follow up prices of commodities, probe the reasons of any prices hikes and taking the measures necessary for confronting price hikes.
