Egypt: U.S. Didn't Issue Egypt Travel Warning

The US Embassy in Cairo said that the US Department of State did not issue a travel alert for Egypt but a security message to US citizens in Egypt urging them to raise their level of alertness during this period of protest and political unrest.

On its Facebook page, the Embassy said that the US Department of State urged US citizens to remain alert in regard to the continuing possibility of political and social unrest in Egypt.

This warning will be in force until May 4, added the Embassy.
