Gambia: Kotu Resident Charged With Threatening Violence

Saidou Juma Camara, a resident of Kotu was on Monday, February 11th 2013 arraigned and charged at the Bundung Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Kijera Camara.

The accused is charged with a single count of threatening violence, contrary to Section 84 of the Criminal Code, Laws of The Gambia.

The facts of the case revealed that on the 6th day of January 2013 at Kotu, the accused person willfully and unlawfully threatened to kill Jose Colley.

Camara pleaded not guilty to the charge and the prosecutor handling the case, Sergeant 1674 Ceesay, applied for adjournment to commence his case at the next adjourned date.

Meanwhile, the accused was granted bail in the sum of D10, 000 with one Gambian surety. The case was adjourned to Tuesday, 9th May 2013 for hearing.
