Rwanda: Jamafest Exhibition Attracts Modest Numbers

Jamafest is well into its second day of activities. Although the unpredictable weather patterns continue to dog the cultural festival, it is registering a significant turn up of participants as well as onlookers.

The Jamafest's prelude to the official opening ceremony has hit off without a hitch with various participating countries exhibiting a variety of items and cultural display.

An elaborate 'East African' art gallery is planned, where painters and photographers will simultaneously display their work for the entire duration of the Festival. "I only pray it will not rain like it did yesterday! It drenched the items I had displayed!"Jane Namala, a member of the Ugandan team of exhibitors said.

Zoe Kamahoro, one of the participants expressed her delight about the carnival and hoped that the rest of the events would live up to all the fanfare promised.
