Rwanda: ULK Thump ISPG in Inter-Varsity Games

Kigali Independent University (ULK) on Sunday outplayed High Institute of Pedagogic of Gitwe (ISPG) during the opening weekend of this year's inter-universities games in Gitwe, Muhanga District.

In men's volleyball, ULK beat their hosts 3-0, (25-20, 25-15, and 27-25) before outclassing them same in basketball, both women and men 35-19, and 67-29, respectively. ULK's dominance continued in football humiliating ISPG 6-1.

Up next for Kigali Independent University in Group B will be INES of Ruhengeri.

The games will continue next weekend in Group A when INATEK play against RTUC, while IPB meet Catholic University of Rwanda (CUR). In Group C, The Protestant Institute of Arts and Social Sciences (PIASS) will host UNILAK. Catholic Institute of Kabgayi (ICK) are the other team in the group.

The championship is funded by the Private Universities and Higher Institutions of Learning in Rwanda and this is the third edition.
