Liberia: Govt Officials Warned As LACC Starts Assets Declaration Verification

The Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) says it will, beginning February 20, 2013, embark upon a random verification exercise of assets declared by public officials.

The exercise is aimed at ascertaining the veracity of the declared assets of these public officials.

The LACC has therefore urged all public officials concerned to cooperate with the Commission in the verification exercise in the interest of transparency and accountability.

Meanwhile, the attention of the LACC has been drawn to allegation of corruption at the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA). The Commission wishes to assure the public that it has commenced deliberations in the matter with the view of citing those involved for investigation.
