Liberia: Remember Christopolis - Evangelist Asserts - Launches Liberia for Jesus 2020

A faith-based group at the launch of the Liberia for Jesus 2020 iterated calls for the name Christopolis, as Monrovia was earlier called, to redeliver it to God.

Evangelist Donatus Nah who made the appeal in an interview with this paper recently said the name Christropolis, which means of Christ, was given to the city not based on its solitude and veracity and because of the Christian value and hospitality shown the free men of color upon arrival.

He said the change in name has brought the many problems the country is now encountering.

Evangelist Nah who did not name the problems added that February 6, 2013 was chosen for the launch of the program due to the historical fact that on this date in 1820 the first batch of free men of color were sent from the USA to Africa.

Evangelist Nah who is the Director of Emmanuel Love Ministry, revealed that the vision for the Liberia for Jesus 2020 was disclosed to him in June 2010 by the Holy Spirit who advised that the program begin 2013.

He said this country will only be a free nation when Liberians return to the Lord, adding "It is always said that Liberia was build on the principle Christianity, which Christians have forgotten".

"To stop all the evil things in Liberia, we much return to the Lord" he said.

According to him, there is no truth, trust and honesty amongst the people in the land due to the failure to recognizing the Lord Jesus Christ.

He pointed out that Liberia for Jesus 2020 is expected to cover the entire nation with ambassadors within the length and breadth of Liberia to preach the message of God.

He said at the end of the 2020 vision, over 70% Liberians will return to the Lord in the nation while more hospitals, schools and churches will be built to cater to them.

The program with a call for the country to return to the Lord Jesus Christ has been finally launched at the Providence Island, the place the pioneers first landed in when they arrived in the country.
