Angola: Name of Hockey World Cup Logo to Be Defined in Public Tender

Luanda — The name of the hockey world cup logo, to be hosted by the country on 20-28 September in the cities Luanda and Namibe, will be defined through a public tender.

This was said to Angop on Tuesday by the spokesman of the organizing committee of the event, Pedro Azevedo "Chupita".

Presented on Monday during a ceremony in Luanda, the logo of the competition comprises yellow colour with some red stripes similar to the masks of the Namibe city from Lunda-tchokwe.

According to him, this is a very suggestive logo exclusively created to symbolize and divulge the national tradition and culture and various names will be availed to the organizing committee for the respective tender.

This will be the first hockey world cup that Africa will host and it will count on the participation of 16 national teams, distributed in four groups.

Check the groups:

Group A: Spain, Brazil, Austria and Switzerland

Group B: Argentina, France, Germany and England

Group C: Angola, Portugal, Chile and South Africa
