Luanda — Angola and Portugal reaffirmed on Monday in Lisbon, the principles continaed in the Convention on Extradition of Convicts, signed by the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) member countries.
The commitment between Angola and Portugal, which also includes aspects related to the conventions on Judiciary Aid in Criminal and Extradition Matters (signed on 23 November in 2005 at Praia city, Cape Verde), is part of a cooperation protocol between Angola and Portugal signed by the ministers of Justice and Human Rights of the two countries, Rui Carneiro Mangueira and Ana Teixeira da Cruz, respectively.
At the end of the working visit paid on Monday to Portugal, the Angolan official, Rui Mangueira, said there is need for strengthening and consolidating the implementation of the protocol on legal and judicial cooperation, which was signed in Luanda in 1995.
He also reaffirmed the commitment to promoting greater technical exchange in different fields of justice and thus making cooperation more proficient.
During his stay in Portugal, the minister met the chairman of the Portuguese Institute of Registration and Notary (IRN).
The minister's visit is an important element in the exchange of experiences in registration and notary processes.
Angola and Portugal have strong cooperation ties in the justice sector, based on legal and judiciary cooperation accords signed between the two countries.
