Nigeria: N22.3 Million Scam - EFCC to Arraign Kano Civil Service Commissioner

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), says it will arraign Alhaji Aminu Ibrahim Gaya, a Kano State Civil Service Commissioner over allegations of forgery in a N22.3 million scam.

A statement by the spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, said the suspect will be docked before a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on a four count charge of forgery, on February 14th 2013.

According to Wilson, "The 61 year-old who was arrested on Monday February 11, 2013 in Kano is alleged to have forged 3 land title documents which he sold as genuine to prospective buyers for a total of N22.3 million."

"The crime was committed while he was an administrative officer with the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA in Abuja, until his retirement and subsequent appointment as Civil Service Commissioner in Kano state," the statement said.
