Zimbabwe: Miracle Money in Parly

DEPUTY Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara was yesterday quizzed to explain Government's policy on the issue of miracle money being 'produced' by Prophet Uerbert Angel of the Spirit Embassy Church. Bulawayo Central legislator Ms Dorcas Sibanda asked the question during the House of Assembly question and answer time.

"Once you say miracle money, it is a miracle. You cannot have reconciliation between science and miracles. You cannot have a relationship between miracles and laws. Miracles by nature do not respect laws, they do not respect science.

"Once you accept the notion of miracles there is a violation of physics. However, as a Government we operate on the basis of science and the laws," he said.

Last week Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor Dr Gideon Gono held a closed door meeting with the two prophets and declared afterwards that their actions were not in violation of any of Zimbabwe's laws. Early this year, some people claimed that they miraculously found money in their pockets and bank accounts after attending Prophet Angel's church services.
