Nigeria: Bakkasi Resettlement - Niger Delta Ministry Builds 40 Houses With N380 Million

The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs (MNDA) has said that over N380 million has been spent on the 20-units housing scheme of a two-bedroom and three-bedroom flats each, built specifically to resettle the displaced people of Bakasi Peninsula.

Deputy Director in the ministry, Architect William Aganga said this Wednesday while conducting the National Good Governance Tour (NGGT) team round the site, located at Bakassi Local Government Area in Cross River state.

Aganga who said the project is over 60 per cent completed, disclosed that the each unit was awarded to 20 contractors at cost N19 million in 2010.
