Nigeria: Jonathan Moves to Weaken PDP Governors, Meets G. 84 Members

As part of the final move to weaken the governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), President Goodluck Jonathan will Thursday meet the voting members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party.

Also, Tuesday night, the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur had met the voting members of the PDP NEC members, otherwise known as the G.84 members. The meeting which took place at the residence of Bamanga Tukur also elected the former Deputy Senate President, Alhaji Ibrahim Mantu as the new chairman of the G.84.

Mantu takes over from the former G.84 chairman, Alhaji Issa Tafida.
