Nigeria: Minister Charges Cross River On Airstrip

Calabar — Minister of Information Labarun Maku has urged the Cross River State government to complete work on the Bebi airstrip near the Obudu Mountain Resort.

He stated this in Ogoja, when he led the Good Governance team to inspect the state government's projects in the northern senatorial district.

Represented by the permanent secretary in the federal ministry of information, Mrs Kehinde Ajoni, he stressed that the airstrip, if completed soon, can positively impact on the nation's economy, especially with the zeal and determination the state was projecting tourism.

Deputy director of tourism in the state, and station manager of the airstrip, Dr. Clement Aneke, said action was temporarily suspended on the airstrip, but that in March 2013, the government would put in place a functional management that would reactivate it.
