Nigeria: National Science, Engineering Fair Kicks Off

Lagos — The National Science and Engineering Fair for all secondary schools across the country has kicked off on at the University of Lagos.

The four day annual event, which is the biggest science fair for secondary schools in Nigeria is being sponsored by Shell Petroleum Development Company, Intel Corporation and Interswitch.

Secondary schools from around the 36 states of the federation will be showcasing their projects and inventions as they try to address the challenges in their local communities.

Speaking at a news conference in Lagos, the Corporate Affairs Manager of Intel West Africa Osagie Ogunbor further stated that the outstanding students at the fair will be sponsored abroad to international fairs like the Intel International Science & Engineering Fair in the United States, which is the largest known Science and Engineering Fair for High School Students in the world.
