Angola: Marine Conservation Areas Mapped, Classified

Luanda — The Ministry of Environment and its partners started recently the detailed classification and mapping of marine ecosystems and Angola coastal zones for setting of goals of their rational and sustainable management, Angop has learnt.

Thus, the Ministry elaborated feasibility studies for protection and securing of the integrated management of water resources, water quality and biodiversity safeguard.

The intention is to elaborate an inventory of Angola humid zones, meant to highlight the primary importance in the production of foods and natural habitat of animal and plant species.

Within the strategies of preservation of sweet waters of ecosystems, Angola has sites identified as humid areas zone.
