Egypt: Culture Minister - PM Promised Financial Support for Ministry's Projects

Egypt's Prime Minister Hisham Kandil has promised to provide financial support for the Ministry of Culture's projects, Minister of Culture Mohamed Saber Arab said on Wednesday.

The Middle East News Agency reported Arab as saying that he will try to retrieve the original copies of cinema films that had been owned by the Ministry of Investment's holding company.

In his first statement after he had withdrawn his resignation, Arab said the Prime Minister welcomed his decision to withdraw the resignation and assume his post again.

Arab had tendered his resignation early February without giving reasons but later backtracked on his decision. Reports had circulated that the minister had resigned due to violence against demonstrators.
