One Babocarr Mboob, a resident of Brusubi in the Kombo North District, West Coast Region, was on Wednesday convicted and sentenced to pay a fine of D2, 000, in default to serve a three-month jail term. He was also ordered to pay a compensation of D1, 000 in default to serve another one month imprisonment term.
The convict was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. The matter was heard at the Bundung Magistrates' Court, presided over by Magistrate Landing M. Sanneh.
The particulars of the offence stated that on the 24th January 2013 at Brusubi in the Kombo North District, West Coast Region, the convict assaulted one Fatoumatta Alieu, thereby causing her injury.
When the matter was read to him, he pleaded guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Touray, who stood for the IGP read the fact of the case and the convict was sentenced accordingly by the presiding magistrate.
