Kumasi — The President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, on Tuesday donated a bull to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, towards its celebration of the Annual West African Security Services Social Activities (WASSA).

The donation was presented by the caretaker Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Madam Animah Wilson, on behalf of the President and the Regional Co-ordinating Council (RCC).

Madam Wilson congratulated the Command for the way and manner it conducted itself during the 2012 general elections.

She reiterated the President's appreciation of the handling the security situation in the region with professionalism and a sense of duty by the Regional Police Command.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Augustine Gyening, who received the presidential gift, thanked the President for his kindness and generosity, and pledged the Command's readiness to work harder to improve the security situation in the region.

He noted that such gesture would go a long way to encourage personnel of the service to give off their best.
