The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Tedros Adhanom, held discussions with a delegation from the European Union Commission, today February 14th.
The delegation, headed by the Managing Director for Africa at the EU, Dr. Nick Westcott, congratulated the Minister on Ethiopia's new role as Chairperson of the African Union and affirmed the Commission's continued support for national development initiatives.
The delegation also thanked the Minister for the positive contributions that Ethiopia is currently making in the ongoing mediation between Sudan and South Sudan.
Dr Westcott also informed the Minister of the upcoming visit in April of a high-level delegation from the commission which will be led by Catherine Ashton, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission. The Minister briefed the delegation on the ongoing success of the Growth and Transformation Plan and emphasized attractive investment climate available in Ethiopia.
