Rwanda: Care International Contributes Rwf10 Million to Agaciro Devt Fund

Care International Rwanda, yesterday, boosted Agaciro Development Fund with Rwf10 million.

The money was handed over to the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN).

The contribution was raised by Care's 81 Rwandan staff members.

The staff representative, Eugene Rusanganwa, said contributing to Agaciro was possible thanks the good understanding of the Agaciro philosophy for staff members.

"The Care management helped staff members understand Agaciro philosophy and the importance of contributing to the Fund, then every staff member was willing to give their contribution," Rusanganwa said.

The Permanent Secretary in MINECOFIN, Pitchette Kampeta Sayinzoga, appreciated the contribution, saying Care is a model for other civil society organisations with regard to the country's development, adding that the Fund now has Rwf26.2b.

Care International was established in Rwanda in 1984. The sectors of intervention include economic empowerment, health and education.
