Coach Didier Gomes da Rosa believes the Primus League title is within Rayon Sport's grasp after their 4-0 win over Marines on Wednesday.
The in-form Nyanza-based side thrashed their relegation threatened opponents to move to the top of the Primus National Football League table for the first time this season.
A hat-trick from Burundian import Cedric Amissi and another strike from skipper Aphrodis Hategekimana gave the Blues a deserved victory in-front of their adoring fans at a nearly packed Stade de Kigali in Nyamirambo.
Gomes told Times Sport on Wednesday that he is satisfied with not only the result but his team's overall performance. "I am impressed with the players' commitment and hard work in getting this victory, which sets us up well to push for the title."
"When I took charge three months ago, the team was struggling near the bottom but the way the players have responded to my way of doing things is amazing.
"The players have really worked twice each day to be where we are, we're all pulling in the same direction, which can only be good for the team as we seek to win the league. This club deserves to win the league after so many years without success." They have nine more games to play, the Frenchman stated.
Rayon capitalised on Police's 0-0 draw with Mukura toleapfrog them by one point. Amissi's hat trick took his tally to six goals in three matches since he signed for Rayon last month.
