Sudan: 'Pro-Government Militia Kills Sudanese Soldier' in Central Darfur

Mukjar — A Sudanese soldier was killed and three others were injured when their vehicle was ambushed by alleged pro-government militias on Wednesday in the area of Nirle, eight kilometers from Mukjar in Central Darfur.

Sources speaking to Radio Dabanga said the soldiers were traveling from Garsila in two vehicles and were carrying the army's salaries.

They were ambushed at about 5:00pm by gunmen riding camels.

Soldier Yaqoub Ahmed Adam was killed and, according to witnesses, a military plane arrived in Mukjar and airlifted the three wounded to a hospital in Nyala, South Darfur.
