MORE than 1,229 students opened Platinum account during the Tanzania Postal Bank (TPB) promotion during the last four months.
The TPB Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mr Sababsaba Moshingi, said on Thursday that during the period more than 60m/- was raised from the promotion. Mr Moshingi said during the final draw to pick the 2m/- winner, where Neema Mniko from Eckernford College in Tanga, won.
He said the promotion has been a success to the bank and that they are planning for more promotional drives in the near future. "The response was great since we surpassed our target and our aim of developing a savings culture amongst the students has been met", he said.
He said the promotion which was launched in November, last year has also made it possible to make the students throughout the country to find TPB their valuable associate in education. The drive was meant to encourage college and university students to open Platinum account with the bank and develop the culture of saving at tender age.
