Angola: Governor Recognises Cubans' Contribution in Angola

Menongue — The governor of the south-eastern Kuando Kubango province, Higino Carneiro, recognised on Wednesday in Menongue city the Cubans' contribution to the reconstruction of the country, in particular his province.

Higino Carneiro said so during the courtesy meeting with the Cuban ambassador to Angola

Angola, Gisela Garcia Rivera.

He said that the Cubans' contribution in the fields of education, health and public works is remarkable and recognised after the armed conflict that hit the country.

According to him, during Kuito Kuanavale battle, Cuban troops, with their determination and courage, together with Angolans contgributed to fight against South African soldiers, which led to the independence of Namibia and end of apartheid.

On the occasion, Higino Carneiro guaranteed that the provincial government wants to turn Kuando Kubango into the limelight of Southern Africa and world, due to its geographic location and potential natural resources.
