Kuito — New agricultural technologies have been tested in central Bié province, to increase rice production, says the head of the sector, Marcolino Rocha Sandimba.

The manager told so to press, in the exhibition act of materialization of new techniques for rice production, in a farm located in Jimba Silili administrative centre, about 10 kilometres off Kuito city.

The initiative aims at increasing rice production, taking into account the Government programme of fight against hunger and poverty.

The project has the support of the Japanese international co-operation, adding that it will reach other localities in Bié Province. It was launched 15 days ago.
