Nigeria: Yuguda - I Will Return to My Farm in 2015

Abuja — Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has declared that he intends to return to his farm once he leaves the state Government House in 2015.

In a telephone conversation with journalists yesterday, the governor. denied recent reports that he had declared his intention to run for the presidency in 2015.

He described the reports as a mere fallacy and the handiwork of mischief makers who thrive on fabricating stories in order to fulfill their aims.

Yuguda stated that his immediate concern and focus right now was to ensure that by the time he leaves office, the state will be rich in infrastructure and human capacity development.

"I will not let anyone shift my focus from the task at hand which is to improve the lives of the people of the state which is the mandate the people of my state gave to me when they re-elected me," he added.

The governor decried the practice of some media outlets of running speculative stories without checking the subjects of the story.

He called on media practitioners to ensure fairness and balance in their stories.
