Lobito — Eighty per cent of the 1,337 kilometres of Lobito-Luau railways is concluded, on Wednesday here announced the director of the National Institute of Angola Railways (INFA), Júlio Bango.
The rains hitting the region hinder the works, says the manager in the fringes of the meeting of experts that are preparing the gathering of ministers with the SADC, whose countries are linked to the Lobito development corridor (Angola, Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo).
"We could have reached Luau, but we had some constraints caused by the rains. We think that soon the works will be concluded and we will be connected to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) through railways", he asserted.
Questioned on the state of the DRC and Zambia railways infrastructures, he said he does not know anything about them, adding that experts from those countries will speak about these matters.
