Zambia: DRC, Zambia Delayed in Lobito Corridor Projects

Lobito — Lack of money has been delaying the execution of the infrastructure projects with the Lobito development corridor in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Zambia, on Thursday disclosed the SADC representative, Mapolao Rosemary Mokoena,

The manager acknowledges that Angola is very advanced in the implementation of railways, airports and port projects, but other countries are slow due to lack of funds.

Lobito project is a priority because it has great infrastructures such as ports, railways and airports, she said in the fringes of a meeting of SADC experts that is taking place since Wednesday, in Lobito city.

On the occasion, she said it is important that the three countries linked to the corridor, namely Angola, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Zambia harmonize the implementation of the projects to avoid asymmetries.
