Nigeria: NPC Starts Demographic, Health Survey

The National Population Commission (NPC) will today commence the 2013 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey (NDHS), the 5th in a series to last till 30 February, 2013.

Chairman of the commission Eze Festus Odimegwu said yesterday in Abuja that the survey which will last for four months is to ensure that detailed and up-to-date information is available for planning purposes.

He said the survey is designed to provide detailed information on fertility, population, family planning, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, as well as registration of birth and migration.
