Nigeria: Murder - Court Revokes Bail of Six Policemen

An Abuja High Court yesterday revoked the bail of six police officers standing trial over the murder of a suspect in detention and remanded them to prison custody.

Justice Hussein Baba Yusuf had in February 2012 granted a revocable bail to Inspector Sale Ezekiel, Sergeant Hassan Jaba, Cpl Salihu Aminu, Cpl Baba Okenyi, PC Uchenna Ibeh, and PC Akilu Danjuma on medical grounds.

The former members of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) were charged by the Inspector General of Police with conspiracy and culpable homicide over the killing of Gabriel Rabo in Abuja on August 2, 2010.
